Russia to have high-accuracy positioning satellite network

The project implementation will ensure decametric and centimetric  accuracy of the object coordinates setting in the real time mode, Russian Space Systems’ message says.

 Russian Space Systems being a part of United Rocket and Space Corporation (URSC) has set about creating a national satellite network of high-accuracy positioning, the company’s message says.

The main goal of the project is to form a high-accuracy navigation field in Russia. URSC will be able to unite over 600 GLONASS satellite reference stations, on which basis separate regional networks of high-accuracy positioning and networks of large state and commercial owners are built. 

" The project implementation will ensure decametric and centimetric  accuracy of the object coordinates setting in the real time mode . URSC will provide users with a set of guaranteed positioning services, available for 24/7. The received measurements can be re-performed in different coordinate systems. The unique opportunities provided by URSC can be used to solve complex technological tasks in the contrition area, vehicle management, infrastructure object maintenance, agriculture and other fields,” the message states.

The increase of the navigation coverage is achieved by means of building new and optimizing existing networks. Accordingly the opportunities of end-users in the framework of the network being created will be extended, and the object coordinates setting in the real time mode will have decametric and centimetric  accuracy.

The use of the network potential has already aroused interest of many Russian regions: Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Yaroslavl, Vologda, Kursk, Omsk, Tyumen Oblasts, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Tatarstan. The readiness for the coordination and consolidation of resources to jointly implement the network’s segment in the Siberian Federal Okrug under the aegis of the Presidential Plenipotentiary is confirmed.
